In the interactive tour “The Secret of the Porta Nigra,” participants embark on a fascinating journey back in time to Roman Trier 1800 years ago, when life was dangerous and daily work arduous – especially for a Roman soldier. The centurion has plenty to tell: portrayed by a professional actor, he recounts tales of glorious splendor and grim battles, of glory and transience, of Roman pride and barbarian defiance.
“The Secret of the Porta Nigra” is a crowd favorite among our interactive tours and guarantees a unique perspective on and within the Roman structure that, like no other, represents the UNESCO World Heritage city of Trier: the Porta Nigra. The audience is interactively drawn into the exciting history of the monument and quickly develops the feeling that something isn’t quite right with the centurion before them. Will they be right?
